Systems for Fiber Optic Manufacturing

Fiber is manufactured by heating a susceptor to an elevated temperature and sustaining the temperature of a large diameter bar/rod of Quartz or other similar material used to make the fibers. The heat causes a section to slowly pull down to manufacture the proper diameter fiber required. This larger starter end is connected to a puller and the fiber is “drawn” through the induction heat zone at a controlled rate to produce the required diameter.
