Inductoheat features one of the most complete laboratories in the heat treat industry. We
provide a complete induction process development
and metallurgical inspection lab. Product design and manufacturing engineers from the automotive, aerospace, appliance, off road vehicle and hand tool industry routinely use our services. We work with both ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Our processes include induction hardening, induction tempering, induction process annealing, brazing, preheating, and curing. The induction process development laboratory includes over a dozen state-of-the-art induction heating machines featuring all
frequencies and power supply sizes. Product design engineers benefit from fast prototypes and technical advice related to both materials and processes.
One of our many heat treat focus areas includes gear manufacturing. Customers work with Inductoheat to develop
gears that are quieter and stronger. Our customers
enjoy less manufacturing steps associated with competitive induction processes or case carburizing.
The
lab's SDF (simultaneous, dual frequency) and VF (variable frequency) power units are
available for gear heat treat process development. We are able to accomplish shallow case
depths and profiled patterns with minimum distortion.
Another area of current laboratory focus relates to
crankshaft manufacturing.
Non-rotating crankshaft heat treat processes are developed for both fillet and non-fillet hardening. This process enables lower manufacturing costs for engine manufacturers as tooling expense and equipment life cycle cost is dramatically less than conventional induction hardening. Inductoheat's non-rotating SharpC process enables parts to be tempered in the same station thereby further reducing capital equipment cost and size.
The best possible outcomes are achieved in our laboratory
work through degreed metallurgists, highly experienced and skilled
practitioners, and set up people.
